The Space Before the Song

The Space Before the Song is a love letter to vinyl, but also to a time when listening to music was something you actively chose to do.

It remembers pulling a record from its sleeve, studying the artwork and credits, placing it carefully on the turntable, lowering the needle and waiting through those few precious seconds of crackle before the music began.

Today we can summon almost every song ever recorded in an instant, but convenience has changed the ritual. Algorithms recommend what comes next, playlists never end, and music can become something playing around us rather than something we deliberately sit down to hear.

The Space Before the Song is about missing the physical connection, the imperfections, the anticipation and even the inconvenience that somehow made music feel more personal.

Because sometimes the magic wasn't only in the song.

It was in choosing it, holding it, waiting for it... and in that little space before the song.
